HOUSEHOLD CAVALRY MARCH PAST & SAULTE
SATURDAY 3RD JULY 2010
I
visited the Household Cavalry Barracks at Combermere and was asked to bring to
the attention to member of our society and as many residents of Windsor and the
public in general the following.
On
Saturday July 3rd The Household Cavalry will march though Windsor
Town exercising their right as Freedom of the Town upon their return from
Afghanistan. They will depart Combermere Barracks at 10.30am and march via
Osborne Road, Kings Road, Sheet Street and Thames Street to march past the
Guildhall and take the salute from the two Regimental Colonels of the Life
Guards and Blues and Royals. General The Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank GCB LVO OBE
and HRH The Princess Royal, KG GCVO QSO before returning via St Albans Street,
Park Street and the Long Walk. At the Long Walk a short Drum head service will
take place before returning to their barracks.
It
is expected that many will turn out to show their appreciation and support for
those who served their country recently in the most hostile of conditions.
Please
circulate this to your friends and family.
Thank
you
Colin
