an organisation formed more than 50 year's ago, comprising men and women, of all political parties and none, who have voluntarily joined together in order to think and act to enlarge the social and cultural life of their towns, and to maintain and enhance their historically unique environment.

The Society is driven by its own set of AIMS and OBJECTS.
